Sep 30, 2021

In addition to reviewing and discussing faith issues spotted in the film, Dear Evan Hansen, Kenny and Mike interviewed director Stephen Chbosky.

Included in the interview is a meaningful discussion regarding the faith and mental health issues presented in the film which are currently impacting children and teenagers.  Joining Mike and Kenny in the interview were several students from Mike's high school.

Kenny and Mike offer their throughts on the reviews and reaction to the film by many on social media.

Based on the Tony Award winning Broadway musical, Dear Evan Hansen touches on mental health among teens. One of the characters commits suicide which is not depicted.

Faith Elements Spotted:

A Statement that those who die of suicide and depression die within the grace of God as anyone who dies by a disease or medical condition.

The contrast between the heaviness often associated with depression and the pressures of the world in contrast to accepting the yoke of Christ which relieves burden and weight. Matthew 11

The eternal reality and graciousness of God makes the low one's mistakes and low points of life in this world seem small.

Through Christ, God does not abandon us nor leave us orphaned. John 14

Offering grace to those that bring pain and loss reflects the grace God gives us.
